UNLOCKING OPPORTUNITIES: From South Sudan to Petroleum Engineering in Algeria

As Robert Louis Stevenson once said, “Don’t judge each day by the harvest you reap, but by the seeds that you plant.” 

This timeless quote perfectly encapsulates Undying Hope’s educational mission, which is built on four major pillars: basic education, health and healthcare services, leadership development, and spiritual formation. True impact is not measured by immediate results, but by the futures shaped by the opportunities we provide today.

A few years ago, Andrew, a brilliant and determined young student, entered secondary school with dreams larger than the challenges surrounding him. His family faced financial difficulties, making the continuation of his education beyond the basics seem uncertain. Fortunately, Undying Hope had just launched its scholarship program in South Sudan, and the school he attended was one of the beneficiary institutions. 

With the support of our scholarship, as well as his dedication, hard work, and the encouragement of his teachers and family, Andrew excelled in his senior secondary school exams. This important milestone opened doors that he once only imagined, allowing him to apply for and secure a government scholarship to study in Algeria.

Today, we are proud to announce that Andrew has been awarded a government scholarship to pursue a degree in Petroleum Engineering in Algeria. His journey, from a student on the verge of giving up to an aspiring engineering student at an international university, exemplifies what can happen when consistent support meets opportunity.

Andrew’s success is not his alone; it is the result of many individuals who invested in him through mentorship, encouragement, and belief. Just as seeds grow into leaders, innovators, and change-makers who uplift entire communities, the Undying Hope scholarship allows secondary students to grow into leaders, innovators, and change-makers who uplift entire communities.
